An African Grassroots NGO Capacity Building Seminar

September 15-17, 2008, Accra -Ghana
 
 The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria recognizes the importance of community-level organizations such as Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs) as strategic on the ground resources for delivering key services.

Friends Africa and AfriCASO are partnering on this Grassroots NGO Capacity Building Seminar  to increase the planning, evaluation and fundraising capacity of 60 African community-level organizations. The seminar, which will be followed by a 6-month support period, will take place September 15th-17th 2008 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra-Ghana, West Africa.

The Global Fund Board Confirms that Round 9 will be in October 2008

The Board of the Global Fund has confirmed that the Round 9 Call for Proposals will be on 1 October 2008, nearly six months earlier than had originally been anticipated. Round 10 is then expected to begin in April 2009.

The Board decision was made by email, and it confirmed a provisional decision made at the April Board meeting and reported in GFO at the time. Round 9 will represent only the second time that two calls for proposals have been launched in the course of a single year.
